Inocucor Field Trials Increase Yields in Diverse Crops in 2015

By Ananda Lynn Fitzsimmons

The FAO’s International Year of the Soil has come to an end, and 2015 is winding up. This year provided significant opportunities to increase the acreage and diversity of Inocucor’s field trials with both Garden Solution and our second-generation cell-free accelerator for row crops. All the results are not yet tabulated and analyzed but, at first blush, things are looking good!

For Garden Solution, we have demonstrated improved early-growth characteristics and better resistance to biotic/abiotic stress, in addition to yield increases. We will soon launch a new product website online that will give farmers and greenhouse growers detailed application notes about our demonstrations on tomatoes, watermelons, broccoli, tomatoes and strawberries. It is our second year with a third-party trial on strawberries, and our results at the end of this growing season support the data from 2014. In the studies on tomatoes and beans, plant-tissue analysis showed increased uptake of micro- and macro-nutrients.

Our second-generation cell-free product for row crops is not yet on the market, but we now have three years of data from a few trials. This year, we widened the acreage and had first-year trials throughout the U.S. and Canada. This cell-free product in development shows yield increases, some modest and some very significant, in a range of crops from corn, soybean, wheat, canola, cotton and strawberries.

Increased yield and improved resistance to biotic/abiotic stress means more production with the fewer inputs for both organic and conventional growers. We are very excited that our claims continue to bear out as we expand into different cultivars, different geographical regions and larger areas.

Inocucor Technologies Inc., based in Montreal, is an ag biotech company that develops sustainable biological products for agriculture targeting the phyto-microbiome—the seeds, plants, root systems and the soil surrounding them. Inocucor’s first-generation product, Garden Solution®, soon to be re-branded as Synergro, employs live microbes to actively improve the health of the entire phyto-microbiome. Its second product, Synergro Free and future generations of Inocucor products are powerful biological formulations for bio-stimulation, bio-fertility and bio-control targeting mainstream production agriculture.
